A range of market-leading digital solutions was on offer at GITEX Africa. ExpoFP created a floor plan with navigation for the largest tech event in Africa in just two days. The digital solution makes navigating the show easier and enhances networking effectiveness. This was powered by ExpoPlatform technology to fuel more valuable experiences at the show.
GITEX Africa is now over, and we are thrilled to have been a part of its success. It is the largest tech and startup event in Africa, held in Morocco from May 31st to June 2nd, 2023. With over 300 exhibitors and more than 10,000 attendees, this annual event serves as a vital platform for showcasing Africa’s achievements, fostering valuable partnerships, and driving economic growth through technology.
The all-in-one tailored solution provided by ExpoPlatform and ExpoFP for GITEX Africa included:
- Interactive Floor Plan with enhanced design and wayfinding
- Lead Intelligence
- Mobile App
- Hosted Buyer Management
- Online networking and matchmaking
Being the service provider for an event focused on technology and innovation was an honor and a challenge. ExpoFP designed a floor plan with enhanced features and sponsorship options in just two days (typically taking 4 to 7 days for large-scale events). Meanwhile, ExpoPlatform provided a full suite of digital solutions to help power valuable experiences at the show.
“It was our first collaboration with GITEX Africa, and despite the tight deadlines, we wanted to ensure they could make the most of our floor plans,” says Ross Sudentas, CEO of ExpoFP.
One of the crucial features of the floor plans was wayfinding, which enables increased visitor engagement, hassle-free navigation, and improved interaction between exhibitors and visitors. It helps prevent missed meetings or sessions, making it easier to navigate the trade show and spend time more effectively. Moreover, wayfinding reduces the costs on signage.
The floor plan for GITEX included logo placement in the header, featured listings, logo placement in booths, premium listings, sponsorships, and booth extras. These additional options can generate at least $8,000 in revenue for even the smallest expos, and up to $200,000 for larger ones.
“Navigating through large-scale exhibitions can be time-consuming, especially when attendees are unfamiliar with the venue, especially of the size of Place Bab Jdid. With our wayfinding solution, visitors can simply use their smartphones or tablets to access the interactive floor plan and easily find their desired destination,” says Ross Sudentas.
Another key to the success of the show was ExpoPlatform’s hosted buyer management solution. This curated meeting program brought together visitors and exhibitors to forge valuable connections. Lead scanning, matchmaking and agenda planning were also all available through the GITEX Africa app. The exhibition comes after ExpoPlatform provided technology for the sister show GITEX Global 2022, which saw around 1 million leads gathered at the Dubai event.
Tanya Pinchuk, CEO of ExpoPlatform, said: “It’s been fantastic to see so many exhibitors and visitors using ExpoPlatform at this inaugural edition of GITEX Africa. But it’s even more special that it is leaders of innovative companies who are powering their experiences with our technology.
“Working with ExpoFP to deliver a smart floor plan to the show was a great experience for all involved.”
